WATERLOO, IOWA (September 16, 2010) — The Healthcare Quality
Association on Accreditation (HQAA), a premier ancillary care
accreditation organization, will host a reception for DMEPOS industry
experts and consultants on Monday, November 15, 2010, in Atlanta, GA.
This reception is held in conjunction with Medtrade, the annual industry
conference.
The reception, titled
An HQAA Update for Industry Experts: Insight and Opportunity, has been created to provide DMEPOS industry leaders a forum to learn all that HQAA has to offer its clients.
This reception is designed to clarify the HQAA process, explain the role
of the HQAA staff coach, highlight the components of the ACT service,
and showcase all of HQAAs accreditation programs for attending industry
leaders. We routinely have industry experts approach us at trade shows
and state association meetings asking for education, said Mary Nicholas,
Executive Director of HQAA. However, a show floor or display area has
not been an adequate space or venue to showcase our programs. We look
forward to demonstrating the live, electronic access to our products,
and to providing our leadership staff to answer their questions. We hope
this reception will be the first of many where we can spend dedicated
time educating and networking with this important group.
There is a misconception that there is no role for consultants to assist
their customers in the HQAA process, and that couldnt be further from
the truth, adds Nicholas. Since HQAA provides an internal staff coach to
assist organizations in the preparation process, many are under the
assumption that the coach replaces the assistance a consultant can
provide. The fact is that many of our customers choose to work closely
with their consultants to ensure their success. While the process with
every accreditation organization can be accomplished successfully
without a consultant, there is always room for a consultants assistance
and on-site preparation activities.
In addition, HQAAs
Accreditation Continuation Toolkit (ACT)
service is offered exclusively to HQAA-accredited providers, and is the
only program of its kind in the industry. The ACT service has been very
well-received, but is always a source of many questions, notes Nicholas.
This reception will offer a live demonstration of the program for
attendees.
HQAA was the first CMS Deemed Status Accreditation Organization for
DMEPOS to offer a completely paperless, totally electronic process for
DMEPOS accreditation preparation through its unique workroom product.
Additionally, HQAA is the only accrediting organization to offer its
customers the option of an ongoing maintenance program, the ACT service,
to reduce the burden of triennial renewal activities by guiding the
accredited provider through monthly activities. This ensures that their
processes are up to date in plenty of time for triennial renewal without
the usual crush of renewal activities that providers have experienced
in the past.
This reception is open to all industry consultants, however space is
limited. To reserve a seat, contact HQAA at (866) 909-4722 or by e-mail
at info@hqaa.org to indicate your interest in receiving an invitation.
