Use and Permission of HQAA Registered Trademarks

The following trademarks are in the process of being legally registered and are restricted to use by HQAA’s accredited organizations who are in good standing. All other organizations using the trademark or logo without prior approval from HQAA is in serious violation of state and federal law, and may be subject to legal action. The following guidelines shall always be followed when making reference to the accreditation award as in advertising, publications, marketing, and collateral, such as business cards, stationary, etc. and any audiovisual materials.

The two trademarked logos may be used by themselves or with the words “Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation” as shown and may not be altered in any way.

Technical Specifications:

  • The typeface is Frutiger Linotype and Georgia
  • The words are not to be repositioned in any way, or typed in any other typeface
  • Authorized colors for the trademark are: PMS Colors - 124 C Gold and 285 C Blue
  • All colors must be used at 100%
  • Black & white reproductions may be used.

If the name of the organization changes, it may continue to use the award trademark in conjunction with its new name with the added line, “Formerly [name of company]”, and adding the line “Currently [new company name]” upon notifying HQAA of the change.

If the organization changes ownership, or in any other way becomes a different entity from the organization that originally received accreditation, HQAA should be notified immediately and may ask the organization to discontinue using the trademark and re-apply for accreditation.

Accreditation award recipients should carefully review all guidelines regarding the use and dissemination of the HQAA trademark. It is the responsibility of the leadership and/or their designees to maintain the integrity of the use of the trademark at all times during the time the organization is accredited. Once the accreditation has expired, i.e. after the three-year period, use of the trademark should cease and it shall be removed from all materials unless the organization has been re-accredited.

If at any time, for any reason to be determined by HQAA, the trademark or its components change, HQAA will be responsible to inform and send new trademark information to all its accredited organizations.

By using HQAA’s registered trademarks, the organization agrees to be bound by the conditions of this agreement.
